Batteries service provider Yuma Energy, on Tuesday, said the company has completed swapping10 million lifetime batteries, which also coincides with the first anniversary of the company, having commenced operations in last February.
Yuma’s BaaS (battery-as-a-service) network has widened to about 125-plus Yuma stations marking 800,000 swaps per across its markets in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Gurugram.
In 2023, Yuma said it enabled over 250 million kilometers of eco-friendly rides.
The battery maker said Yuma’s consistent growth relied on a combination of hardware, software, and operation, which includes its IoT-enabled (Internet of Things) charging units and smart batteries. Also, its artificial intelligence-enabled technology stack and 99% battery availability rate at its swapping stations has boosted reliability for Yuma’s users.
“The coming year Yuma striking multiple partnerships on the supply side – by adding OEMs and mobility operators – as well as on the distribution side, where we will go for intelligent and data-driven expansion of our swapping stations,” said Muthu Subramanian, General Manager and Managing Director of Yuma Energy.
Yuma Energy, headquartered in Bengaluru was founded as a joint venture between Ontario-based auto maker Magna and Yulu, electric micro-mobility service provider, with a mission to build a sustainable future by making urban mobility accessible, affordable and carbon free.
