Technology services and consulting company, on Saturday, Wipro appointed insider Srini Pallia as Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective immediately.
Pallia has been with Wipro for over three decades. He joined Wipro in 1992, Pallia held various leadership roles, including the role of President of the company’s Consumer Business Unit, also, he was the Global Head of Business Application Services. Most recently, he served as the CEO for Americas 1 in Wipro.
The company said Pallia, after assuming the new role, will be based in New Jersey and will report to Rishad Premji, Chairman of the company.
Pallia will be succeeding Thierry Delaporte, who has been the CEO of Wipro for nearly four years. Delaporte is stepping down from his position to pursue passions outside the workplace.
The exiting CEO joined the company in 2020, before which, Delaporte held senior positions at Capgemini for over 27 years. In all, he has over 34 years of expertise in the professional sector.
“Thierry will continue until the end of May, working closely with Srini and me to ensure a smooth transition,” added Premji, Chairman.
In March, Wipro appointed Anne-Marie Rowland, Managing Partner in UK and Ireland of its subsidiary brand Capco to take over as the brand’s Executive Chief, effective April 1.
