UAE Motorists Celebrate Price Drop as December Fuel Rates Fall
Petrol costs decrease significantly while diesel sees a marginal rise, offering timely budget relief for residents across the Emirates.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee officially released the approved fuel rates for December.
Consequently, motorists across the Emirates will enjoy reduced transportation costs. Specifically, the price for Super 98 petrol drops to AED 2.61 per litre. This marks a notable decrease from last month’s rate of AED 2.74. Therefore, owners of high-performance vehicles secure immediate financial savings. Furthermore, Special 95 petrol now costs AED 2.50 per litre.
Previously, this popular fuel category stood at AED 2.63 per litre. As a result, daily commuters gain significant financial relief. Additionally, E-Plus 91 fell to AED 2.43 per litre. Thus, commercial fleets benefit from lower operational expenses compared to November. However, diesel prices shifted differently during this adjustment cycle.
The rate rose marginally to AED 2.68 per litre. Nevertheless, this slight increase ensures continued stability for the logistics sector. Overall, these adjustments reflect current movements in the global oil market. Moreover, the deregulation policy ensures local prices remain fair. Hence, the government avoids subsidising fuel, protecting the national budget.
Analysts suggest these lower rates ease inflation pressures. Consequently, residents may enjoy increased disposable income. In addition, the transparency of monthly updates builds public trust. Finally, this pricing structure encourages fuel-efficient driving.
