The 4th Annual Business Tabloid Awards, conducted at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, UAE, on the 19th of January, 2023 witnessed a wonderful gathering of global award winners from the world’s best organisations.
One of the esteemed participants, Thaely’s Matteo Boffa bagged the Best Green Entrepreuner 2022 award. Business Tabloid was proud and honored to recognize his continuous commitment to excellence and the community.
The prestigious award was felicitated by Amb. Dunston Pereira, CEO at His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi Group of Companies.
Matteo Boffa is a Swiss Serial Impact-Entrepreneur, resident in Dubai since 2016. After dedicating over 9 years of his career to the world of finance (Swiss Private Banker) and nearly 2 years in the Swiss Army (Chief Sergeant Major), he decided to make a radical change in his life and undertake a path linked to sustainability and the protection of the environment. He is now an active investor and part of the board of several companies worldwide.
One such venture is Thaely, a sustainable fashion brand that creates vegan sneakers from up-cycled waste plastic bags, recycled plastic bottles and recycled rubber. They made a fabric that looks and feels like leather but is made entirely out of waste plastic bags, without the use of any chemicals.
Mr Matteo also lectures entrepreneurship and sustainability at multiple universities in the UAE and Switzerland. In September 2020 he was recognized by Forbes in the 30 Under 30 list and in November 2022 was awarded as Middle East Young Entrepreneur of the Year by MEED.
