Internet service provider TelMAX, on Wednesday, appointed Michael Strople, board member of the company to take over as its new chief executive officer, effective January 2.
Prior to the appointment as CEO, Strople joined telMAX’s board in July 2022, while he served as CEO of telecommunications firm Allstream. Before which, he assumed various other leadership roles in companies like Zayo Group, MEF Forum, and Nortel Networks.
The company said having commenced his career in research and development, Strople’s professional experience includes strategic and operational M&A expertise, successfully leading complex corporate integrations and business transformations.
Stuart Roberts, current CEO joined TelMAX in May 2022, will step down from his role to assume the position of president and chief operating officer. Previously, he worked with Last Mile Communications, telecommunication service provider as associate partner and chief of business development for over two decades.
Roberts commented, “I am pleased to hand the reigns of telMAX over to Michael whose skills and talents make a very welcomed and valuable addition to the leadership team, I am looking forward to continuing my efforts to grow telMAX in my new role and am looking forward to working with and supporting Michael as our new CEO.”
The Canada-based telecommunication firm established its fiber-optic network in underserved communities and integrated its fiber and technological expertise into communities of Brooklin, Stouffville, Newmarket, and most recently, Aurora, with ongoing plans for expansion into other communities.
