Telecommunication firm Stc Bahrain launched 3CC (three-component-carrier), a telecom solution on Sunday. The company said it is the first operator to test and launch 5G 3CC technology.
The telecom company said newly launched technology will play an important role in advancement of Bahrain’s digital and telecom infrastructure. The company added that 5G 3CC services will be available to residents of East Hidd area, while also providing download speed up to 2.5 gbps (gigabytes per second) on 5G 3CC-enabled devices.
Formally known as VIVA Bahrain said the newly built technology aims to meet rising demands of today’s data-centric environment as well as 3CC network to be available across the Kingdom.
Additionally, the company looks to provide various vertical communication requirements with consistent and high-quality user experience along with the capacity to improve 5G download and upload speed by 55% with seamless video streaming, and online gaming.
In late September, Stc Bahrain completed 5G advance trial in the MENA region at the 31st Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG). At the event, the company reached new, global 5G-advance speed record with ten times more speed than the current 5G speed.
