Metal recycling firm Sims Limited names Warrick Ranson as group chief financial officer effective on December 4, replacing the interim financial chief Steve Skurnac, who has held this position since October 1 on Thursday.
Mascot-based firm said the newly appointed financial chief will directly report to the newly appointed executive chief Stephen Mikkelsen. He took the position on October 1 following the retirement of the former executive chief Alistair Field.
Ranson served many leadership roles said the company, previously he served as chief financial officer at a modern mining firm, OZ Minerals Limited, for about six years where he was instrumental in guiding that company through a period of substantial growth and value creation.
Prior to that, Ranson was with mining firm Rio Tinto serving multiple impotent leadership roles for 18 years. Ranson will be based at Sims Limited’s corporate headquarters in Sydney, Australia.
Mikkelsen said, “Warrick will be a significant contributor to the team as we navigate through an important phase of our organization, including recycling capital, pursuing growth initiatives, and optimising our cost structure, this appointment comes as we undergo significant business transformation, and I am confident that he will play a pivotal role in our continued success.”
