Energy management and automation firm Schneider Electric partnered with Charge&Go, tech investment firm on Tuesday, with an aim to drive the development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the UAE.
The electric vehicle industry is greatly blooming in the Middle East region. Global automobile competitors have branched out to introduce EV models in hopes of meeting growing demand. Along with which, charging stations and battery makers are also benefitting from this spike in interest.
The firm said it looks to tackle the increasing demand for sustainable transportation in the UAE. Additionally, the agreement will cover the deployment of EV charging solutions in the state, where e&, the telecom company will install EV charging solutions at Etisalat Academy, a professional training and coaching provider.
“By uniting with Schneider Electric, we amplify our commitment to drive positive transformation in the UAE’s electric vehicle infrastructure,” said Muammar Al Rukhaimi, Executive Chief of Etisalat Services Holding.
“Our collaboration with e& highlights our efforts toward advancing the landscape of sustainable transportation in the UAE,” said Ahmed Fateen, Commercial Vice President for UAE and Oman, Schneider Electric.
Earlier this month, oil and gas firm King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) collaborated with Schneider Electric to build a high-tech manufacturing facility located in Dammam and Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. The facility will manufacture key systems including a distributed control system (DCS), emergency shutdown system (ESD) and compressor control system (CCS).
