Prince Faisal Emphasises Global Equity, Sustainable Growth, and Innovation in Johannesburg

Prince Faisal bin Farhan recently attended the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Moreover, he participated on behalf of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. During the sessions, discussions focused heavily on critical minerals and artificial intelligence. Consequently, the Foreign Minister emphasised the necessity for fair access to these vital resources. Furthermore, he praised South Africa’s presidency for effectively shaping this year’s strategic outcomes.
In addition, the Minister noted that these efforts built upon past global achievements. Crucially, he underscored the need for equity in the access to and investment in minerals. Therefore, these resources remain essential to global sustainable economic growth. However, a balance must exist between development and environmental protection.
Regarding the green economy, the Kingdom views AI as a primary driver of innovation. Nevertheless, the Minister stated that responsible development requires international dialogue and cooperation. Additionally, he called for collective action and strict adherence to international laws. Furthermore, protecting intellectual property forms the basis for a fair governance framework.
Ultimately, Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to a just global economic system. Thus, the nation supports shared prosperity for future generations through equal opportunity.
