Flying car maker Samson Sky, on Wednesday, initiated its crowdfunding through Wefunder, a crowd-funding platform to get into the production stage, following the successful completion of its first flight of the air vehicle named Switchblade on November 5, 2023.
Samson Sky began raised $10 million prior to the announcement of crowdfunding, with its orders of $472 million and more, said the firm.
Crowdfunding is initiative taken by a company to raise money or funds in forms of small capital from large group of investors or venture capitalists.
Switchblade flying car uses unleaded auto fuel in place of leaded aviation fuel hybrid electric transmission, and also makes use of carbon parts production which are non-toxic and fully recyclable, said the Oregon-based firm.
Additionally, Samson Sky has the objective to scale across the U.S. and overseas. Switchblade looks to feature engines that could run on hydrogen and as a hybrid electric vehicle.
The three-wheel vehicle has the ability to perform like a sports car on the road and takes flight similar to a high-performance plane. Switchblade was developed for consumers to perform day-to-day tasks and business personnel, while the usual aircrafts are for the purpose of long journeys.
