UAE-based Defence and Space Manufacturing Company, LAHAB and Indonesia’s PT Pindad, on Monday, signed two key agreements to explore collaborative opportunities in defence manufacturing and equipment supply
The Head of Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed during the Indonesia-UAE Business Week 2024 in Bali, witnessed by the VP of Marketing, Sales and Business Development of PT Pindad, Yayat Ruyat representing the Deputy Main Director of PT Pindad, Syaifuddin and the Director of Business Development of Lahab UAE, Saleh Al Mansoori.
The company said the partnership aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s defence industry and boost bilateral trade between the UAE and Indonesia to $10 Billion by 2030 under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. LAHAB and PT Pindad will work together to establish advanced defence manufacturing capabilities in Indonesia
“The industries of both countries, through the role of BUMN(Pindad) and quality companies, must play a major role in achieving our sustainable future,” said Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs of Indonesia.
“By encouraging more UAE companies to partner with BUMN, we have the opportunity to expand in Indonesia and expand the ASEAN market,” Luhut added.
During the UAE-Indonesia Roundtable Discussion, Luhut and Al Mazrouei emphasised exploring new cooperation areas to enhance bilateral relations. PT Pindad also met with Tawazun, Caracal, and EDGE Group to discuss further strategic defence associations.
