New Pacific Metals CEO Dr Rui Feng steps down

New Pacific Metals Corp said on Monday, Dr Rui Feng, founder and chief executive officer of the company has stepped down from his role. The company appointed Andrew Williams to succeed as CEO, effective immediately.

Williams previously served as president of New Pacific Metals. Prior to which, Williams spent over a decade with an SEC-registered precious metals investment fund, most recently as portfolio manager.

Dr Feng said he left the firm as chief executive in April 2020 as a corporate governance initiative but later returned as CEO in early 2022. He added that New Pacific since then has delivered a robust Silver Sand PEA and made a discovery at Carangas.

“As part of the succession planning, Andrew joined the company at the beginning of the year and has demonstrated leadership capabilities with integrity and initiative, features required to propel the Company to the next stage of permitting for development of its projects in Bolivia,” added Dr Feng.

The company said as CEO of New Pacific Metals, Dr Feng led the company to Bolivia in 2017 and acquired the Silver Sand project which has recently led to a significant discovery.
