Auto ride-hailing app Namma Yatri launched Namma Cabs services in Bengaluru, on Tuesday, as it has been expanding with the growing users, to provide safety, service quality, and overall driver welfare.
The homegrown app said it boasts cost optimization, with over 40 lakh consumers and 1.7 lakh drivers earning ₹300 crore ($358.20 million) commission-free. It is committed to open systems, collaboration, and innovation, which will propel it into a transformative state by 2024.
Ride-hailing peer Rapido, also founded in Bengaluru, was initially launched for booking bike rides and then expanded to auto reservations too. The company launched its cab-drop services in late 2023, initially in three cities namely, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
Currently, Rapido cab reservations are made available in over 100 cities in India, based on a news report.
Namma Yatri exists in seven cities, including Bengaluru. Recently, the app launched its services in Chennai and Delhi. The zero-commission app has prompted many people to use Namma Yatri’s last-mile connectivity services from specific metro stations.
Cabs of Namma Yatri provides consumers with both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned cab services. The company’s app is linked with the ethos of transparency and community participation, and it operates within the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
