Japan Airlines to offer complimentary COVID-19 insurance for passengers
Japan Airlines (JAL) becomes one among the airlines to offer COVID-19 insurance to its passengers on international flights called JAL COVID-19 cover.
The Airlines has joined hands with Allianz Travel to provide complimentary cover for testing, medical expenses and quarantine costs in the event that customers test positive for COVID-19 during their travel.
The cover will include a validity period of 31 days from the first leg of an international flight or expires upon return to the country of residence, whichever is earlier.
The result of this policy is that any COVID-19 cases can be contained and managed; it also means that while some travelers going to Japan will test positive for COVID-19 but they won’t be out and spreading it .
