Infleqtion Boosts Commercialization, Acquires SiNoptiq, Morton Photonics
Infleqtion, quantum information company, acquired two integrated silicon photonics companies SiNoptiq and Morton Photonics on Monday, enabling Infleqtion to expedite plans for chip-scale integration of lasers, which is essential for commercializing quantum products, such as sensors and quantum computers.
The company said Infleqtion’s acquisition and ongoing investments in SiNoptiq and Morton Photonics, both producing essential quantum components will accelerate the transition of these required photonic and laser technologies from R&D (research and development) into commercial production at scale.
Scott Faris, executive chief of Infleqtion said, “Getting quantum technologies out of labs and into the hands of customers requires a heavy focus on scale, both in manufacturing and across the entire supply chain.”
The company said SiNoptiq and Morton Photonics add to Infleqtion’s already substantial IP (intellectual property) portfolio for quantum-integrated photonics.
This is done by bringing over 40 foundational patents and product portfolios related to integrated lasers and photonic systems-on-chip critical for the scaled production of quantum sensors, quantum network devices, and quantum computers.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Infleqtion is a supplier of high-precision components for research labs and quantum machine development. Its products range from Atomic Prisms to ion devices, all carefully crafted to deliver accurate results.
