Huawei Cloud Hosts Egypt’s First Fintech Summit, Showcases Cloud Solutions for Industry Growth

Cloud service provider Huawei Cloud launched Egypt’s first-ever Fintech Summit 2024, with the theme “Unlock New Growth with Huawei Cloud.” The summit spotlighted cloud solutions tailored for Egypt’s fintech sector.

Focusing on security, scalability, and efficiency, the event introduced Huawei’s innovative offerings, including the KooVerse platform with 93 availability zones worldwide and an extensive global CDN network for real-time, secure transactions.

The summit attracted key players in Egypt’s Fintech ecosystem, who explored innovations shaping the financial services landscape. Attendees learnt about Huawei Cloud’s cloud-native database solutions designed to prevent vendor lock-in, reduce costs, and enhance transaction speed, making it a robust option for fintech providers.

Cairo-based, Huawei cloud’s services have rapidly evolved to address local regulatory needs. Its Cairo Cloud region infrastructure supports fintech companies by ensuring data compliance with local data residency laws.

“Cloud technology is a powerful force that can unlock the potential of Egypt’s fintech ecosystem,” said Yaeer El Alaily, CEO and Managing Director of Egypt for Information Dissemination (EGID). “Huawei Cloud, in particular, provides seamless data access and fosters collaboration among financial institutions and innovators, facilitating the rapid development of customised financial solutions that enhance customer experiences and promote financial inclusion.” He added.

Huawei Cloud also introduced the “Pioneer Programme,” providing Egyptian fintech firms with first-month free access to Cairo Cloud Region services and a 20% discount in the second year. As a major player in Northern Africa, Huawei’s expanded services in Egypt offer critical support for fintech companies through a comprehensive range of cloud solutions, promoting a digitally empowered economy aligned with Vision 2030.
