Heavy industries company Human Dynamics (HD) Hyundai partnered with Alphabet-owned Google Cloud to accelerate its digital transformation using generative AI technology on Monday.
The company said the partnership will introduce generative AI across Hyundai’s core businesses, including its world-leading shipbuilding and top-ranking construction machinery businesses in Korea.
Google Cloud will provide enterprise solutions like its Vertex AI platform to develop industry-specific AI applications, while HD Hyundai will prioritize high-impact tasks like building AI solutions tailored to each industry’s needs, creating AI-based platforms to enhance customer digital experiences, and training AI experts, the company added.
The collaboration with Google Cloud was executed initially in July 2023, the company planned to establish a long-term AI roadmap to lead digital and business innovation.
HD Hyundai said combining the vast data the firm has accumulated over the years with Google Cloud’s generative AI technology will create great synergy and actively utilize AI to improve work efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.
A month ago, Hyundai Motor signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a logistics firm Poh Tiong Choon Logistics (PTC) with an aim to establish hydrogen-based mobility in Singapore. Also, it also partnered with e-commerce giant Amazon at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show to bring innovation in customer experience, a week before that.
