HBO & OSN sign Expanded Deal with Warner Bros. Discovery

OSN, the Middle East streaming service and Warner Bros. Discovery have signed a multi-year exclusive licence agreement, making OSN the exclusive platform for streaming all HBO content throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

The multi-year licencing agreement strengthens OSN’s market-leading position by extending its rights to broadcast and stream programming from HBO exclusively on OSNtv and OSN+.

The extended partnership has been expanded to embrace further content and channel offerings from Warner Bros. in addition to HBO shows like “Succession,” giving OSN premium access to current blockbuster movies including “The Batman,” “Dune,” “The Matrix Resurrections,” and “The Suicide Squad.”

The agreement covers the expansion of Discovery Channels’ distribution through the service, including Discovery, TLC, ID, Discovery Science, and other channels. The agreement follows comparable extensions for Foxtel, a pay-tv and streaming company in Australia, and U-Next, a regional streaming service in Japan.

“We’ve been working with HBO for almost a decade. We’re doubling down on the strategy, I’d like to announce today that we’re signing a multi-year exclusive mega licensing deal with HBO, that will cement us as the home of HBO for the Middle East and North Africa,” said Joe Kawkabani, CEO, OSN.

Jamie Cooke, GM CEE, Middle East & Turkey of Warner Bros. Discovery said, “We’re excited to expand our partnership with our highly valued partner OSN. As Warner Bros. Discovery, we have a wide variety of content to offer and we’re delighted that we can now offer OSN’s viewers the possibility to enjoy even more of their favourite shows. No matter if it’s the newest season of Succession, their favourite episode of FRIENDS, the hit movie Dune or the newest season of Gold Rush, there is something for everyone to watch, whenever they want.”
