Flipkart, Axis Bank Partners to Launch UPI Handle

Walmart-owned Flipkart partnered with Axis Bank on Sunday, to launch its UPI handle to further enhance its digital payment aid for all customers including over 500 million online shoppers of Flipkart.

The company said Flipkart UPI would initially be available to Android users. Customers may now register for UPI with the @fkaxis handle and use the Flipkart app to make fund transfers and checkout payments.

This initiative will offer unprecedented ease and no-cost solutions, democratizing access to frictionless payment methods, added the e-commerce platform.

E-commerce provider also said the UPI solution will facilitate seamless onboarding and make it easier for consumers to utilize the capability for both online and offline merchant transactions both inside and outside of the Flipkart marketplace.

The new launch adds rapid and one-click bill payment and recharge features, improving consumers’ total payment efficiency said the rival of Amazon from India.

Almost 117 billion transactions of ₹182.84 trillion ($2.49 trillion) were processed using UPI in 2023, demonstrating a dynamic environment with the involvement of banks, payment service providers, and Fintech businesses, added the firm.

On February 19, One 97 Communications (OCL) Paytm, assured its customers online of providing zero disruptions in merchants’ settlements and minimal through a new partnership with Axis Bank.

“Recognizing the dynamic digital landscape, the launch of Flipkart UPI seamlessly merges the convenience and cost-effectiveness of UPI with the trusted efficiency customers expect from us,” said Dheeraj Aneja, Senior Vice President at Flipkart.
