FitnGlam Appoints George Flooks as Group CEO

Wellness Forward Group, parent company of United Arab Emirates’ women-only fitness Club, FitnGlam, appointed industry veteran George Flooks as Chief Executive Officer, on Wednesday.

Wellness Forward Group’s subsidiary brands include FitnGlam, Platform Studios, and FitCode.

Flooks has been the CEO of Fitness First which is based in the Middle East for over a decade, prior to taking up the role as chief executive in UAE. Flooks also worked as Chief Operating Officer at Fitness First in UK.

George Flooks, the newly appointed Chief Executive stated, “I look forward to building on the success of the team and leading them through this exciting phase of development and expansion while maximizing the longer-term opportunities as the demand for fitness, health, and wellbeing continues to increase in the region.”

The company said Flooks was instrumental in the company’s growth from 8 to 86 clubs, with a membership of one million, George played a key role in listing the Health and Racquet Club Group on the South African stock exchange and facilitating the strategic sale to Virgin Active.

Flooks will be responsible for steering Wellness Forward Group towards new business objectives and expansion across the portfolio, including the current expansion of FitnGlam into the Ras Al Khaimah market in the UAE, the company added.

The Dubai, UAE-based company is an only-women fitness club that gives access to various equipment such as cycle, boxing, mind-body, and reformer studios with classes to suit all abilities.
