Emirates NBD, Microsoft Join Hands to Transform Sustainability Measurement Capabilities

Financial service provider Emirates NBD collaborates with tech giant Microsoft, on Friday, to implement Microsoft Sustainability Manager, a Cloud for Sustainability solution, to implement digital transformation.  

Sustainability manager an adaptable solution integrating data intelligence for organizations at any sustainability stage, automating processes to efficiently record, report, and reduce emissions, water, or waste impact, said the firm.

Dubai-based bank said it becomes the bank in the MENAT (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey) region to integrate Sustainability Manager in its sustainability path, incorporating in core banking business, sustainability data visualization, and transformation.

Emirates NBD said the implementation continues with its ongoing collaboration with Microsoft to enable focused advancement of sustainability goals through knowledge sharing, collaborative frameworks, and development of future commitments.

Islamic banking solution said the initiative align with the vision of the bank. The bank specializes in Corporate banking solutions, Retail banking solutions and Investments also the firm was Banking Partner of COP28.

Sherif Tawfik, Chief Sustainability Commercial Officer at Microsoft said, “The successful implementation of Microsoft Sustainability Manager will enable Emirates NBD to efficiently record and report their emissions and ultimately contribute to achieving their sustainability targets.”

Vijay Bains Chief Sustainability Officer Emirates NBD, said: “Our sustainable Finance Framework is aligned with Sustainability Manager and gives us visibility to access intelligence required to issue Sustainable Finance Instruments to finance and refinance projects which enable the transition to a low carbon and climate resilient economy and provide positive societal impact.”
