Emirates Airlines is gearing up to launch NFTs, one-of-a-kind Metaverse experience

Emirates Airlines already has the first initiatives in the works. A launch is scheduled in the coming months, as part of its focus on expanding its digital reach. In the Metaverse, enthusiasts will be able to obtain collector and utility-based NFTs, as well as a variety of other experiences. Emirates is investing $10 million into the virtual world, targeting both customers and employees.

It was only last year Emirates Airlines revealed intentions to develop its own VR software on the Oculus Store. It would allow customers to experience authentic, life-size, and interactive cabin interior experiences onboard Emirates’ flagship A380 and Boeing 777-300ER Gamechanger aircraft.

As part of new plans outlined by the airline, which is known for its creative goods and customer-centric services, signature brand experiences in the metaverse, as well as collectible and utility-based NFTs, will be produced.

Furthermore, Emirates has now announced that it plans to transform its Emirates Pavilion at Expo 2020 into a sort of innovation hub. The venue will bring together talent from around the world to bring the airline’s future-focused projects to life, such as those involving the Metaverse, NFTs, and Web3.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and the chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said in a statement:

“Dubai and the UAE are blazing the way in the digital economy, having a clear vision supported by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas such as virtual assets, artificial intelligence, and data protection. Emirates has always embraced advanced technologies to improve our business processes, enhance our customer offering, and enrich our employees’ skills and experiences. We are excited about the opportunities in the digital space of the future and are committing a significant investment in financial and resourcing terms, to develop products and services using advanced technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and business efficiencies.”

Airlines and the aviation industry have a lot of prospects thanks to NFTs and the Metaverse. NFTs could be utilized for boarding passes and voyage tracking in the airline sector. Flight time, distance traveled, and other information could be stored in NFTs. Virtual lounges, among other things, can be found in the Metaverse.
