Elon Musk , the founder, CEO and chief designer of SpaceX is trying to build a new city called Starbase in Texas.
The SpaceX founder, Elon Musk had tweeted “creating the city of Starbase, Texas.” SpaceX’s Texas facilities are located in Boca Chica Village a town on the state’s Southern tip near Brownsville.
Since 2014 the company has been developing its starship rocket and testing prototypes, But Musk said the city would cover ”an area much larger” than the village.
In a statement by the judge’s office in Cameron County, where Boca Chica is located stated that
“In the last few days, Cameron County was officially approached by SpaceX,”
“regarding Elon Musk’s interest to incorporate Boca Chica Village into the City of Starbase, Texas.”
“Earlier today Cameron County Commissioners Court was informed of SpaceX’s endeavor,”
The Starbase city is yet to be developed, because of this reason the local authorities have cautioned Elon musk to make a formal request before the incorporation process begins.
Cameron County Judge, Eddie Trevino Jr said in a statement that if Elon Musk and SpaceX would like to pursue down this path, they must abide by all the state incorporation statutes, and the Cameron County will process any appropriate petitions in conformity with applicable law.
SpaceX is currently in the process of creating its new steel launch system called Starship-Super Heavy.
The purpose of Starship-Super Heavy is to send crewed missions to the mars and moon.
The CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk wants the vehicle to stand 394 feet tall (120 meters) and completely be reusable.
And the Starlink facility will become Elon Musk’s second Austin-based venture.
He also announce that Tesla would build Gigafactory Texas, which will be a $q billion, 4 to 5 million square foot facility.
The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk said:
It will “basically be a ecological paradise” for the public and the company’s expected workforce of 5,000 employees.
