Deutsche bank sets up ESG Centre of Excellence in Singapore
The German Based Deutsche bank has set up its ESG Centre of Excellence (COE) in Singapore.
The bank is focused on executing ESG transactions, advisory services and new product development which will work across all the business divisions of Deutsche Bank.
The Head of ESG for Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank, Kamran Khan said:
“The transition of Asia towards sustainable practices requires ESG transaction models, products, solutions and regulatory measures which meet international standards while supporting on-the- ground realities in Asia.
He also stated that once the ESG Centre of Excellence in Singapore is established the bank will set standards for evidence based, data driven transactions which can substantiate ESG impact and support sustainable growth.
The Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific, Alexander von zur Muehlen said:
“Establishing the ESG Centre of Excellence in Singapore provides a strategic and operational platform for Deutsche Bank to become the premier client-focused ESG bank in Asia Pacific.
He also added that the Deutsche bank’s investment in building world class in house ESG expertise will be complemented by the bank’s well known structuring and placement capabilities, is delivering exponential growth in the banks ESG business.
In Asia Pacific region, Deutsche Bank is partnering with clients on a host of innovative and award winning transactions which includes world’s first green hedge based on a green hedge framework.
In the transformation strategy of Deutsche bank, sustainability will be the core pillar and also the bank will be committed to supporting clients as they transition for the zero carbon economy.
