Credit Suisse announces change in Senior Management of Swiss private banking

Credit Suisse announced today that Roger Suter, presently Regional Head Central Switzerland, would succeed Serge Fehr as Head of Private Banking, Switzerland on August 1, 2022. Roger Suter joined Credit Suisse in 1993 and was promoted to his present position in 2012.

André Helfenstein, CEO of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd., commented: “Private Banking Switzerland is a success story. Under the leadership of Serge Fehr, the business has continuously achieved strong results, transitioned to a more effective organizational set-up and introduced broad-based service excellence. Thanks to Serge Fehr’s passion, dedication and hard work over the last seven years, we can now hand over a well-functioning business area to Roger Suter, who successfully managed an important region for the bank in Switzerland, worked closely with Serge and the Private Banking Switzerland leadership team for many years and has deep knowledge of our private banking business and strategy.”

The banking giant recently came under scrutiny when a Swiss Federal Criminal Court judge pronounced it guilty in a money laundering allegation. Credit Suisse has denied the charges and has stated that it plans to appeal the judgement soon, citing ‘historical organizational inadequacies’ and the investigation dated back more than 14 years.

The company has also said in a statement that ‘Credit Suisse is continuously testing its anti-money laundering framework and has been strengthening it over time, in accordance with evolving regulatory standards. Generating compliant business growth in line with legal and regulatory requirements is key for Credit Suisse.’
