Century Communities CFO David Messenger to Step Down

Century Communities, on Monday, said David Messenger Chief Financial Officer of the real estate company is stepping down, effective March 22, to pursue new opportunities.

The company named Scott Dixon as Interim CFO, who is presently serving as Assistant Chief Financial Officer, until a permanent successor is appointed. 

Messenger has been with the company as Financial Chief for over a decade. Prior to that, he worked with Colorado-based real estate firm UDR for about nine years under various roles, and he took over as CFO of the company in May 2008. Messenger specializes in finance and accounting in real estate firms.

The firm said he overlooked all the accounting, financial, capital markets, risk management and financial planning.  

The newly appointed interim Dixon, has been with Century Communities since 2013, serving various accounting roles and is currently positioned as Assistant Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer. Prior to this, he was the Chief Accounting Officer for nearly six years.

The firm said he was deeply involved in the firm’s initial public offering in 2014 and has been responsible for overseeing its SEC (US Securities and Exchange Commission) reporting, financial planning and analysis, and directly managing the finance team.

Colorado-based Century Communities was founded in the year 2002. It offers luxury new home construction for single-family, condos or townhomes. The firm’s subsidiary, Century Complete sells affordable homes through online home buying experience.
