C-DOT, Qualcomm Collaborates to Foster Innovation in India

Public funded research institution Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) said it will partner with Qualcomm Incorporated owned Qualcomm Technologies, on Friday, to stimulate India’s telecom ecosystem of developers, start-ups, academia, and industry partners.

C-DOT said with Qualcomm Technologies expertise and practices it looks to support cutting-edge technology, intellectual property training and tools.

Telecommunications firm showcased its products in Barcelona, Spain, which includes 5G, ITU-CAP based disaster management system, and cell broadcast technology, Quantum Communication as well as cyber security.

ITU-CAP is known as common alerting protocol is an international standard for emergency notification and public warning designed by Organization for the Advancement of Structures Information Standards and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) adopted it, stated United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).

“Our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies will help transition us to an era where innovation thrives, unlocking the vast potential of Indian R&D, accelerating the commercialization of new products and use cases and fostering a vibrant ecosystem of startups,” said Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT.

In early January, Qualcomm Technologies collaborated with OnePlus to bring a series of cutting-edge technologies to the upcoming next-gen flagship OnePlus 12, upcoming version of the smart phone.

Indian government owned C-DOT was established in August 1984 as an autonomous body. It was to develop customized technology to meet the needs of the Indian telecommunication network.
