Global ed-tech company Byju’s, on Monday, said Arjun Mohan, Chief Executive Officer of Byju’s India stepped down from his role, after serving in the role for a very short period.
The company named former chief executive of UpGrad India Arjun Mohan to take over as CEO of Byju’s India, succeeding a founding employee Mrinal Mohit, in September 2023.
Mohan’s resignation comes at a critical time for Byju Raveendran, who is grappling with a slew of issues that have afflicted the company in the last year. According to media sources, Raveendran, the founder, would now resume leadership of the business’s daily affairs.
Despite his resignation, Mohan will continue to work as an advisor for an ed-tech company for the time being, based on media reports.
Most of Mohan’s experience has been in sales, marketing, and product development. He has worked in various businesses, including ed-tech at UpGrad and Byju’s, fashion at Titan, and automotive at Tata Motors.
He started with Byju’s initially in 2008 as a Consultant and stayed with the company for over a decade and parted after serving as Chief Business Officer. After that, he took over as the Executive Chief of UpGrad for nearly three years.
Founded in 2011, Byju’s is an e-learning provider, headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company was initiated to make high-quality education available to students everywhere.
