Amazon-owned Amazon Music, on Wednesday, launched a new feature called Maestro, an AI playlist generator, which is currently rolling out in beta to a small number of customers in the US region on all tiers of Amazon Music.
The tech giant said it looks to make the playlist generation process easier and fun with chatbot and prompt ideas. The music player said the prompt can be elaborate and users can use emojis to describe the emotions.
Global tech firms have long begun to launch AI-generated features into most of their workstations as well as on their consumer ends. Users have been excited to exercise them, with the most popular being chatbots and GPTs, apart from image and video generators.
With Amazon’s experiment with Maestro, it is not far ahead for its global competitors including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music to upgrade their music platforms through AI-integrated versions.
In early April, Amazon Music’s rival YouTube Music integrated its peer firm, Google Podcast, whose services were shut down in US, to build a product that rewards creators and artists as well as a single destination for its fans with the best podcast experience.
The newly launched Maestro can curate a playlist or select the song from suggestions within seconds, as well as get a unique-to-you playlist, said the firm. Additionally, the company said, as Maestro is in its reminiscent stage, the AI feature may not ace it the first time.
The firm said it has implemented systems to proactively block offensive language and inappropriate prompts. The firm is looking to get feedback from its users and continue to make Maestro the safest experience for everyone.
