Resort and luxury company Aman, on Monday, appointed Jonathan Wilson to take over as chief executive of its subsidiary cruise line Aman at Sea, who will launch one of the first luxury motor yacht developed through a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi.
The company said the CEO of the cruise line will lead the development and implementation of Aman’s first luxury superyacht, working closely with Vlad Doronin, executive chief of the parent firm, to deliver the brand’s vision and strategy as Wilson brings over two decades of experience to the role.
Wilson, most recently worked with NPD Group, market research company as senior vice president of Global Product Management division since April 2021. Prior to which, he served in various leadership roles in JLL, Hilton Worldwide, and for over a decade with Princess Cruises.
Wilson said, “Aman has been a pioneer in luxury hospitality for over 35 years and it is a privilege to be joining the company to lead the development of Aman at Sea, an exciting new endeavour for the visionary brand which will bring the company’s experience to the world’s oceans, setting a new standard in waterborne voyages.”
Aman said the cruise line is expected to launch in 2027 and its official name will be announced in due course.
The luxury firm said the 183 metre vessel designed in partnership with SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design, will feature 50 spacious luxury suites, with Aman’s eastern heritage and design philosophy integrated seamlessly with the architectural vision, offering a whole new category in on the water exploration.
