Renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), on Tuesday, operationalized a cumulative capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW) solar energy project at renewable energy park at Khavda, Gujarat.
The renewable energy project installed about 2.4 million solar modules and is expected to be finished in the next five years, creating over 15,200 green jobs, said AGEL. The company also said it achieved an operational capacity of 9,478 megawatts (MW) and is working towards the stated goal of 45,000 MW by 2030.
AGEL added the project execution capabilities of Adani Infra, Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), Adani Infrastructure Management Services (AIMSL), and AGEL is going to set wind-solar hybrid cluster at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
In mid-February, AGEL said it has operationalized 551 MW of solar capacity, by supplying power to the national grid from its renewable energy (RE) park in Khavda, Gujarat.
“Renewable energy sources have the potential to supply 65% of the world’s total electricity by 2030 and decarbonize 90% of the power sector by 2050,” said Raj Kumar Singh, Minister of New and Renewable Energy Govt of India, in October 2023.
The Ahmedabad, India-based company enables clean energy transition and its utility scales grid-connected solar, wind and hybrid renewable power plants. AGEL has a locked-in growth trajectory of up to 20.8 GW, and its operating renewable portfolio of over 9 GW spread across 12 states.
