Renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), on Tuesday, said it has operationalized 551 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity, by supplying power to the national grid from its renewable energy (RE) park in Khavda, Gujarat.
AGEL said it planned to develop 30 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity at RE Park, where it is expected to be functional in the next five years. The company also claimed when completed, Khavda RE park will be the largest renewable energy installation in the world.
Khavda RE Park has the capacity to supply power to about 16.1 million homes each year. It also witnesses 2,060 kWh/m2 of high solar irradiation, which is ideal for solar energy generation.
“Adani Green Energy is creating extensive renewable energy ecosystems for solar and wind, its goals of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and carbon neutrality,” said GautamAdani, Chairman of Adani Group.
The Ahmedabad, India-based company enables clean energy transition and its utility scales grid-connected solar, wind and hybrid renewable power plants. AGEL has a locked-in growth trajectory of up to 20.8 GW, and its operating renewable portfolio of over 9 GW spread across 12 states.
