ACWA Power, IRENA Partnership Drive Global Renewable Energy Transformation
ACWA Power, a leading developer and operator of renewable energy projects, on Thursday, signed a pact to partner with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) for the improvement of the global transition towards clean energy.
ACWA and IRENA will focus on developing key areas like green hydrogen, solar power, smart grids, and the water-energy nexus. They will also work together on green initiatives, collaborative framework, project facilitation, the Alliance for Industry Decarbonization, the Utilities for Net Zero Alliance, and the Coalition for Action.
The world is facing a pressing need to transition away from fossil fuels, towards cleaner and sustainable energy sources like solar, wind, and geothermal power. This transition is crucial for combining climate change and ensuring a secure energy future
“Our partnership with IRENA marks a significant milestone in our journey towards a sustainable energy future”, said Marco Arcelli, Chief Executive Officer of ACWA Power. “By combining our strengths and resources, we are prepared to drive meaningful change and accelerate the transition to renewable energy on a global scale.” ACWA Power’s expertise and IRENA’s global reach create a powerful driver for the global shift to renewable energy. This directly aligns with IRENA’s mission of sustainable development and energy security for all.
