Investcorp, investment management firm appointed insider Abbas Rizvi as its Group Chief Financial Officer on Wednesday, replacing Jan Erik Back, who is to retire from his position, effective April 1.
Rizvi has been with the Bahrain-based firm for about two decades, under several leadership roles. Most recently, he was heading financial management for about four years. Prior to this, he worked at Ernst & Young (E&Y) in Pakistan for five years, with his last role being as an associate in its business risk services unit.
Investcorp said Rizvi is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, and his time at E&Y involved working with financial institutions, including auditing and advisory services to large banks, insurance companies, and asset management firms.
Erik Back held his position as Financial Chief since 2018. The current CFO has aided in accelerating the company’s financial strategy and its position as a leading alternative asset manager, Investcorp also said. Prior to which, he worked with SEB (Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB), a Stockholm, Sweden-based financial institution for a decade.
“I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the board, management team, and colleagues to execute the firm’s strategic vision, driving profitable growth and ensuring continued success,” said Rizvi.
