NASA Set Coverage of Odysseus Moon Lander

Space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), on Tuesday, said it is aiming to land Odysseus lunar lander near Malapert A in the South Pole region of the Moon at 5:49 PM EST, on February 22, in collaboration with Intuitive Machines.

The firm said the landing will be live telecasted at 4:15 PM EST on its recently launched NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app, and its official website.

A week ago, Robotic Lunar lander Odysseus launched at 1:05 AM, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida in collaboration with Houston-based Intuitive Machines.

NASA, with this launch, aims to provide insights into the lunar surface environment and test technologies for future landers and Artemis astronauts.

The launch is the initiative of NASA’s CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) initiative and Artemis campaign. The space agency said with the CLPS initiative it looks to collaborate with several United States companies to deliver science and technology to the lunar surface.

Artemis campaign is an ongoing moon exploration and discovery aiming to learn how to live and work on another world as prepare human missions to Mars. NASA will land the first woman of colour on the Moon, using innovative technologies to explore more of the lunar surface than ever before.

Space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched a space telescope called UVEX (UltraViolet Explorer) to survey ultraviolet light across the sky to gather insight into how galaxies and stars evolve.
