Skydio, Aeroarc Partners to Serve Customers in Indo-Pacific Region

Drone manufacturer Skydio partnered with peer Aeroarc on Tuesday, to expand artificial intelligence (AI) collaboration between United States and India through the introduction of advanced autonomous flight technology in India.

Through this partnership, Skydio said it will support Aeroarc of small uncrewed (unmanned) aircraft systems (sUAS) for Indian customers. Also, the partnership of Skydio-Aeroarc will aid to Indian Ministry of Defense, also to the other global defense customers in the Indo-Pacific region, the company added.

Skydio also stated the partnership with Aeroarc aligns with the wider strategic goals of Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).

In early 2023, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Joseph Biden, President of America reaffirmed technology’s defining role in deepening their strategic partnership through India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) to build open, accessible, secure, and resilient technology ecosystems.

“We support the objectives of the INDUS-X partnership and believe autonomous drone technology is central to the future of India’s defense innovation strategy,” said Adam Bry, CEO of Skydio.

“Skydio & Aeroarc will locally manufacture state-of-the-art drones, catering to both domestic and international markets,” said Arjun Aggarwal, Managing Director of Aeroarc.

Headquartered in San Mateo, California, Skydio was founded in 2014. It leverages AI to create intelligent flying machines for use by consumers, enterprises, and government customers.
