IWBI Join Forces with GRESB to Accelerate Social Sustainability

The real estate firm International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) collaborated with sustainability firm in real estate and infrastructure GRESB on Tuesday, to accelerate social sustainability by improving reporting and disclosure capabilities across key social factors, including health, equity and well-being.

The firm said the newly built partnership aims to develop resources to help investors, companies and asset operators to incorporate social performance in the investment engagement process. Additionally, the company said it would co-create a social sustainable dashboard with a performance indicator utilizing data from the GRESB Real Estate Assessment.

The sustainable designer said it would provide supporting materials to help investors use information from the GRESB and IWBI social sustainability reports and tools.

“Through the rapid global adoption of the WELL Building Standard, the world’s leading standard focused on advancing people’s health and well-being, IWBI is at the vanguard of helping organizations around the world deliver on strategies to strengthen social sustainability,” said Chris Pyke, chief innovation officer at GRESB.

“Our new partnership will allow us to create new tools to help investors understand and advance the social sustainability of real asset companies and funds around the world,” Pyke added.

“Through this strategic partnership with GRESB, we are seizing the moment to accelerate progress in social sustainability, creating new tools to help investors and managers deliver positive impacts for people and communities,” said Rachel Hodgdon, CEO of IWBI.
