New York-based IBM signed a definitive agreement worth €2.13 billion ($2.33 billion) in cash, with Software AG to acquire tech platforms StreamSets and webMethods, on Monday, to accelerate their digital transformations, and effectively deploy AI across the enterprise.
Tech firm said the platforms are Software AG’s Super iPaaS (integration platform-as-a-service) enterprise technology platforms. AG’s Super iPaaS is the combination of webMethods and StreamSets, a unified platform for application integration, data integration, API integration, B2B integration, and event integration.
IBM said this acquisition will allow its AI and data platform ‘Watsonx’ to integrate StreamSets’ data ingestion capabilities, on the other hand, webMethods will provide clients and partners with additional tools for integration in their hybrid multi-cloud environments.
The Cloud engineering firm said StreamSets is a cloud-native DataOps and data ingestion platform, which allows enterprises to achieve consistent access and delivery of data across a wide spectrum of data sources and types.
WebMethods is an integration and API management platform. The integration platform, deployed both on-premises and in the cloud, offers B2B integration, managed file transfer, and provides a modern API gateway to manage, monitor, and monetize APIs, said the firm.
