Health-tech Median Technologies rebranded its medical device iBiopsy to eyonis on Sunday, at the opening of the Radiological Society of North America 2023 in Chicago.
The Software as Medical Devices (SaMD) firm said the rebranding comprises new name, logo, tagline and the changes will be on immediate bases.
SaMD is software that is intended to diagnose, monitor, or prevent medical conditions. The term is often used to distinguish software that has a medical purpose from general software applications,
Median Technologies said the concept behind the rebranding is to be align with its mission, ‘Eyonis’ represent eye meaning to create a connection to visual imaging combined while ‘Onis’ means to power, and efficacy.
The firm said the new brand tagline is ‘Catching the Unseen’ which encapsulates the firm’s commitment to strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI) harnessing medical images to bring hidden insights to light with efficacy in order to enable better and earlier diagnosis of patients.
“As a reflection of our commitment to bringing the best of AI/ML tech-based methodologies to software as medical devices to help fight cancers, we embark on a transformative journey from iBiopsy to eyonis, a new brand name with an etymology linked to vision, power, and efficacy,” said Thomas Bonnefont, Chief operating officer of eyonis.
