Automotive firm Hyundai Motor Co partnered with global giant Amazon Inc at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show on Thursday, with an objective to bring innovation in the customer experience.
Hyundai said the collaboration includes Amazon to launch online sale of Hyundai vehicles in United States in 2024, where customers will be able to order its cars online and get delivered tailored to their comfort, giving unique experience to the buyers.
Additionally, the car maker said Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be its cloud provider to accelerate digital transformation, and built-in Alexa at Hyundai’s next-generation vehicles. Amazon will provide services like compute, storage, database, and analytics to generative AI and Internet of Things (IoT).
“From changing the ease with which customers can buy vehicles online, to making it simple to use Alexa in Hyundai vehicles for entertainment, shopping, smart home adjustments, and calendar checks, to enabling Hyundai to transform their customer experiences and business operations by moving to AWS,” said Andy Jassy, chief executive officer at Amazon.
Jaehoon Chang, CEO of Hyundai stated, “Hyundai is the first automotive company available for full end-to-end transactions in Amazon’s U.S. store and this is another example of how we continue to push for ways to elevate the customer journey together with our outstanding retail partners.”
