Yango Introduces ‘Yasmina’, Human-Like AI Assistant

Global tech company Yango Tech launched an Arabic-speaking, human-like AI assistant called ‘Yasmina’ on Wednesday. The smart assistant has the ability to be an empathetic companion as well as carry basic tasks like streaming music or turning on smart home appliances.

The AI-based voice assistant is capable of engaging and maintaining conversations like a real person. Yasmina’s ability is based on a large language model that is fine-tuned by content professionals.

Yasmina’s dialogues are edited by various people from different locations like Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and more, who are involved in training Yasmina to recognize a wide variety of speech patterns, intonations, and dialects.

The advanced machine works similar to Amazon developed Alexa and Apple owned Siri, where it acts as a smart home center, carrying tasks like adjusting the room temperature, turning on the vacuum or finding new recipes. Additionally, Yasmina can be built into other applications and smart home devices.

Samer Mohamad, regional director of Yango said, “Our mission at Yango is to transform global technologies into everyday services for communities around the world, this is why we created an Arabic-speaking smart assistant that makes everyday chores fun and fits perfectly in any GCC home.”

Right now, the company is fine-tuning Yasmina’s large language models (LLM) to make the assistant even more fluent, creative, and emotionally intelligent, he added.

Dubai-based company Yango specializes in the acquisition and transformation of global technologies for local enrichment, with innovation in new technology. The firm has a global reach providing seamlessly integrated daily services for diverse regions.
