UAE and Bahrain to offer Sinopharm vaccine shots to its residents
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain to offer Sinopharm vaccine shots to residents which is developed by China.
These booster shots which is given to the residents and citizens had two doses, stated by the countries medical authorities.
The vaccination campaign of United Arab Emirates which relied majorly on the Sinopharm’s vaccine is one among the fastest in the world which was available to all the residents and citizens.
For several months Sputnik V, AstraZeneca/University of Oxford, Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines has been available in Dubai.
Abu Dhabi changed its course to Pfizer as it was offering its residents only Sinopharm.
The United Arab Emirates National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority tweeted that
“An additional supportive dose of Sinopharm is now available to people who have received the vaccine previously and who have now completed more than six months since the second dose,”
The Bahrain’s National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus announced
“the opening of registration for a booster COVID-19 vaccine dose for the most vulnerable groups in Bahrain, at least 6 months after taking the second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine,
“for first responders, as well as citizens and residents above the age of 50, as well as those suffering from obesity, low immunity, or other underlying health conditions.”
