FPT smart cloud, has partnered with KT Corporation in a business agreement to promote a business to supply public and financial cloud services to Vietnam.
KT Corporation, previously known as Korea Telecom, is South Korea’s largest telecommunications company and also South Korea’s first telecommunications company and as such it dominates the local landline and broadband Internet market.
With this business agreement, KT has entered the Vietnamese enterprise (B2B) cloud market.
The firm FPT Smart Cloud, which is a subsidiary of Vietnam’s largest IT service provider FPT Group. It provides ICT services to 48 countries around the world and it has secured more than 100 of the fortune 500 companies as clients.
FPT Group established FPT Smart Cloud which is a cloud specialised subsidiary previous year to expand its cloud business.
The Korean company KT corporation which currently provides cloud services to approximately 7,000 companies and public institutes in South Korea.
The head of KT’s Global Business Division, Moon Seong-wook, said,
“With this business agreement, we will expand the competitiveness of Digico KT, the nation’s first cloud provider and the nation’s largest IDC provider, to emerging markets.”
The CEO of FPT Smart Cloud, Le Hong Viet, said,
“Through this MOU, the two companies are expected to strengthen their cooperation system and increase their competitiveness in various DX businesses besides cloud.”
Both the companies decided to set up the corporation model because of KT’s accumulated knowledge in cloud service operations which can become the most effective digital transformation (DX) solution in Vietnam.
The two companies will discuss plans for KT Cloud’s entry into ASEAN market.
It is planning to establish cloud data centers (CDCs) operating in five domestic and international regions, including South Chungcheong Province, Cheonan, and Los Angeles, USA, in ASEAN countries as well.
The CEO’s of both the corporation participated in this business agreement.
